Fullness
If an artificial tree is not very full then it will be pretty obvious that it is not the real thing. A lot of people will end up only finding artificial trees that are pretty thin in the middle. This is why it is a good idea for you to make sure that the tree that you get is one that is full or at least can be arranged in a way to make it look fuller. You would probably look for the same quality in a real tree.

You will of course want to make the tree look like a real tree with a good color. There are actually a lot of artificial trees that will be unrealistic colors. If this is what you are going for, then these can be a lot of fun to decorate with. However, if you happen to be a person that enjoys a real looking artificial tree, then you will want to go with one that is the more traditional pine green.
Size
The size of the tree should be one that is going to be able to help make it look realistic. A lot of the time, an artificial tree will end up being overly small. If you have the room for it, then you should go for a bigger tree.
